The largest manufacturing show in North America, the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2016 will be here before you know it. Running from September 12 to 17, 2016 in Chicago’s McCormick Place, the show promises an exhaustive array of exhibitions, events, and co-located shows.

For students, the Smartforce Student Summit will be returning for the 10^th year, and encourages young people to learn more about industrial careers and consider them for the future. All age groups are welcome, and there are many different exhibits to provide a hands-on experience for the hundreds of students who attend.

And for those of us already in the trenches of manufacturing, we’ll have our hands full between exhibiting and walking the show floor. In addition to the main IMTS show, there will also be 5 co-located shows: Industrial Automation North America, Motion Drive & Automation North America, Surface Technology North America, ComVac North America, and Industrial Supply North America. For companies like Von Ruden that specialize in driven tooling and components, these are a major opportunity to learn more about new industry advancements and trends while showing off our wares.

The show will also feature its iconic hot air balloon (currently making rounds throughout North America), as well as cars that were built during the previous two shows –  the IMTS Rally Fighter from IMTS 2012, and the Strati 3-D printed car from IMTS 2014.
